This front door hardware, is etched with an image of a nuclear family, basking in front of beaming rays of hope, was one of several display pieces, for a National campaign called, "Live Better Electrically"
This door knocker, medallions and placards were placed on newly built "All-Electric", 50s and 60s model "Homes of the Future"

The door knocker was one of several items created for a campaign called "LIVE BETTER ELECTRICALLY" including brass medallions and placards.
These newly built modern homes, proudly displayed these campaign items, indicating they were "All-Electric" Homes of the Future" and the homes were declared as "Gold Medallion Award Winning Homes."
The campaign, was an advertising bonanza of optimism and consumerism, captivating a country besieged by decades of economic depression and war.
Starting in the 1950s, aided by GI Bills funding home ownership, a nation became pumped with renewed optimism, economic prosperity and a hunger for suburban life in appliance-filled, sprawling homes.
A message that permeated print and TV ads and was even the theme that captivated millions at the '64-'65 World's Fair.
The logo for the campaign, as seen on this door knocker, is a All American nuclear family, with rays of light around them with the promise of a happy tomorrow.
