Rare and unusual gueridon (three legged) wrought iron table with a beautiful gray stone top. Designed by Yale R.Burge who was the first president of the National Society of Interior Decorators. Mr. Burge was a partner in the design firm of Burge‐ Donghia and the head of Yale R. Burge Antiques, Inc. He attended Pratt Institute and the Beaux Arts in Paris. In World War II he served as an aerial observer in the Royal Air Force, transferring to the Army Air Force after this country entered the war. After the war, Mr. Burge was an innovator in popularizing the French country look and in reproducing select examples of European antiques.
