A rare and unusual modernist lamp by Peter Pfisterer, ca' 1940's. Shade pivots to aim light and height is adjustable. Made of brass and painted aluminium. The Swiss born architect, Peter Pfisterer studied and trained in Europe before moving to Los Angeles, where he worked with Richard Neutra from 1933-1940. Wear consistent with age and use. good overall condition, wear appropriate to age, original patina and some oxidation to brass, one brass socket holder has a crack-see pic8500.
