An unusual 1970s modernist sculpture in bronze by a noted American sculptor Rodger Mack (1968-2002). An abstract chariot in steampunk style... A quick note about Rodger Mack: "Born in Barberton, Ohio, he graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art, and Cranbrook Academy. He moved to Syracuse in 1968 where he was head of the Sculpture Department at Syracuse University for 34 years. He was the first Director of the Schoolof Art and Design at Syracuse University and was instrumental in the growth and development of the national reputation of the Sculpture program at S.U. He worked with sculptor Anthony Caro to establish the world-renowned Triangle Artists Workshop which was held in Pine Plains, NY, Barcelona, Spain and London, England. He served as Dean, board member of participant for 10 years, from 1982-1992. Triangle Workshop became world renowned for shaping new ideas and directions in art. An artist with an international reputation, Rodger worked in bronze, iron, and stone. He has had solo exhibitions in the Sid Deutsch Gallery, and Oscar Krasner Gallery in New York City, and his work is in numerous public and private collections both nationally and internationally.".
