This original, oversized, offset lithograph exhibition poster, called "The Fight" was created by award winning, Swiss graphic artist, Celestino Piatti in 1971 The World Heavyweight Boxing Championship Match, also dubbed the "Fight of the Century" between Mohammad Ali and Joe Frazier, was held at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and simultaneously broadcast, live, via close cuicuit TV to the 142nd Street Armory of Harlem, in Manhattan. This was the first time Ali and Frazier were paired up with each other. Frazier won the title by unanimous decision, thus making this Mohammed Ali's first professional defeat. Piatti was commissioned to design a poster advertising a rare closed-circuit live screening of a sporting event This poster was produced for the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), which hosted the only Harlem screening of the fight.
